Mercy
Vision
Harbor Presbyterian Church desires to be a church that is both in the city of San Diego and for the city of San Diego. We strive to be for the city by demonstrating mercy and love toward those in need throughout the city. We do this by connecting volunteers: to the opportunities for service, connecting your passion to a program that can use it to impact the lives of others, and connecting financial resources to organizations that can use them to meet the needs of those in our city.
Our basic strategy is to gather individuals into teams and then connect the team to a ministry partner where they can serve and put their passion into practice. To learn more about our ministry partners and the ways to be involved with one of our teams, click on the links below.
Other Opportunities to Serve San Diego with Harbor - Mira Mesa:
San Diego Food Bank - On the 4th Saturday of each month, we have a group of adults and children (6 years old and up) go to the Mira Mesa area facility to sort donated food, fill boxes for seniors, backpacks of food for kids and more – all for distribution to the working poor in various parts of the city. High Schoolers can earn Community Service hours for serving with us. Contact Melanie Handley
Tijuana Church Building Projects – Come with us to Tijuana and help our brothers and sisters south of the border with some construction projects. MUST have a current passport. Contact Melissa Macauley for more information.
GenerateHope - GenerateHope serves San Diego’s sex trafficking victims by offering a real way out. GenerateHope is a Christian faith based organization providing a long-term, comprehensive, housing and recovery program to young women who have been sexually trafficked, so that they are able to reintegrate into society and walk powerfully into the future. GenerateHope’s vision is to see survivors of sex trafficking and exploitation recover from the abuse and trauma of the sex trade. It is also their goal to educate our community and work with local law enforcement and taskforces to eradicate human trafficking in San Diego. Contact Susan Munsey at or see the web site for more information about how you can get involved. www.generatehope.org.
