Campus

Harbor Mira Mesa is committed to being a church for the campus. There are more than 20,000 students at the University of California at San Diego (UCSD). To be a church for UCSD, we are pulling alongside the various campus groups to help them reach their ministry goals. We know that the goal of campus ministries is to establish college students in a lifestyle of faith that will continue after graduation. To continue a lifestyle of faith, graduates need to know how to thrive in a church. Harbor offers campus ministry leaders help in getting students plugged into a church, Harbor or other churches, while in college so that when they graduate they can say, "I have experience participating in a church as an adult, I have served in a meaningful role in the church as an adult, and I am learning my gifts in the body, growing in ministry."

To assist campus leaders, we offer these resources to campus ministry groups:

  • Gospel & Heart classes to small groups. Our staff trains campus ministry leaders so that their small groups can learn how to apply the Gospel to every aspect of their lives.
  • Crown financial classes to small groups. Our staff trains campus ministry leaders so that their small groups can learn how to apply the Gospel to money: giving, saving, budgeting, getting out of debt, and more.
  • "Starving Students." Meals with church families, to get to know people older than college age for meaningful fellowship in the church.
  • Opportunities to serve on Ministry Teams. If students are to go on in a lifestyle of faith after graduation, learning to serve in a church as a young adult is key.
